FleurWilds' processes and ingredients used to make
100% Natural Paraben Free skin care products.
In the manufacturing studio of FleurWild we use many indigenous plants, herbs and botanicals; all gathered using safe wild crafting procedures. Some of these indigenous plants escaped many years ago from the gardens of immigrants from Europe. These people exchanged their knowledge of healing herbs with our first nation peoples. This knowledge has been handed down through the generations.
At the FleurWild manufacturing studio we only select the herbs at their height of potency and are always fresh. There a many different types of herbs and botanicals used for different solutions in our skin care products. It has taken many years of experience harvesting and using the herbs and botanicals to be able to identify them in the wild and know at what time of year to harvest each one.
SPRING time will capture the healing qualities of the herbs in their flowering state.
SPRING time is also a good way to identify a certain type of plant by their flowers, which are usually very distinct.
SUMMER is the time to harvest the leaves and greens of the plants and sometimes the late bloomers.
FALL is the time to gather the roots, when the plants have grown and worked hard all year to infuse the healing qualities into their roots.
FleurWild uses many different types and combinations of herbs to formulate our line of various skin care solutions; these include mainly nourishing and tonifying herbs. NOUISHERS provide high levels of vitamins, minerals , antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. TONIFIERS act slowly in the body and have a cumulative, rather than immediate effect. Tonifying herbs are most beneficial when they are used in small quantities for extended periods of time.
By using these 100% natural herbs and botanicals your body will know and recognize what they are. Your skin will be able to absorb the healing benefits in the natural state without the parabens and chemical preservatives. Our bodies do not recognize these chemical additives that are used abundantly in the common, corporately, massed produced skin/personal care products. Furthermore parabens have been found in breast cancer tumours where the body, not knowing what to do with them, accumulates them. At FleurWild only natural preservatives are used, example, vitamin E, rosemary leaf extract, etc. The herbs that are not indigenous to our climate here in western Quebec are also organically grown on the farm. Some ingredients are outsourced from only certified organic suppliers, for example, green tea extract and essential oils.
The way in which we extract the properties of the herbs are by way of making infusions, tinctures and decoctions. DECOCTIONS are best used fresh, while infusions can be made into oils and are used within a year. TINCTURES are usually made with the herb and vinegar, grain or 100% proof alcohol. The vinegar tinctures will last for that year while the alcohol tinctures will last for a number of years if stored properly, in a cool dry place away from sunlight. We store all our infusions and tinctures in dark coloured glass bottles. After making them, they need to be aged with the herb for specific times, depending on the herb used. Then carefully formulated into our entire line of skin/personal care products.
Because we use organically grown, beeswax, goat's milk in some of our product line, these can not be considered vegan, so please check the ingredients listed with every product if this is a concern. So it is with great pride that the FleurWild brings you these 100% natural, 99% vegan skin care products.
